Phil Elson
Phil is one of Australia's leading ceramicists. He throws fine porcelain tableware, large bowls and teapots in his Castlemaine studio. His work has a strong East-Asian influence, in particular Japanese, Korean and Chinese but he has also spent time, on an Arts Council Residency in Barcelona so Spanish traditions are also part of the mix. Add in rural Nepal and India and Berlin as well!
Phil will talk and throw (he'll bring a wheel) and discuss the world of his art.
